MP's from around the country will soon vote on whether to approve the £9,000 "fee ceiling" for students wishing to study in Higher Education.

As the government prepares to withdraw from contributing to Higher Education, and place the burden largely on students, they are drawing a line in the sand.

We believe that Higher Education is a huge public good as much as it benefits an individual themself. Higher Education is at the core of developing social mobility and our society as a whole.

If the government approves the proposal we believe it will be the death of education in the UK.

Come along to the Students Union at 3.30 PM on Wednesday 8th December to hear speakers from Unions and student groups call for sense.

Then the mourning procession will head to college green as we lay education to rest and hold a candlelit vigil and read its last rites.
